The decision of Joe Jonas to legally part ways with Sophie Turner this Tuesday wasn’t unexpected for those close to them. An insider revealed that the duo had spent « most of the summer on their own. »

This move follows recent news by PEOPLE that Jonas, 34, had sought legal counsel for the divorce, even though he still sported his wedding ring. The insider shared that the rapport between Jonas and Turner, 27, had been strained for some time, but both are keen on an amicable resolution.

The couple has two daughters: Willa, aged 3, and another 14-month-old daughter referred to as D. in the documents. The papers state that « the marital bond is beyond repair » and acknowledge the existence of a prenup.
Previously, in a chat with Mr. Porter last November, Jonas discussed the couple’s choice to keep their relationship largely out of the public eye.
