The 60-year-old actor dazzles in a fresh commercial for the brand, his first since the much-publicized trial with former spouse Amber Heard last year.
In the stylish ad, Depp, looking dapper in a sleek all-black outfit, delivers a poetic narration. « An eagle cries as it circles its prey. The blazing sun high in the ozone blue sky. A trail of cold wind stirs a land of dry wood and stone, » he passionately recites, wrapping up with, « This is the call of Sauvage Eau.”
Word on the street is that Depp inked a whopping three-year contract with Dior, rumored to be over $20 million, as per Variety. This deal is making waves as the most significant men’s fragrance contract ever.
Dior took to Instagram to celebrate Depp’s new ad, captioning a snapshot of the actor, « Bold and powerful, in his essence, his truth, @JohnnyDepp embodies the soul of Sauvage. »
After the trial with Heard, where both were found liable for defamation, Depp has been keeping busy. He toured with his band, The Hollywood Vampires, and graced the Cannes Film Festival with his presence in the French film Jeanne Du Barry, portraying King Louis XV.
On the horizon, Depp is gearing up to direct the anticipated film Modi, inspired by the play Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre.
